Walnut Maple Syrup Squares


1 1/2 Cup Spelt Flour
2 t aluminum-free baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 Cup Maple Syrup
4 T. Oil (walnut, almond or sunflower)
2 t. Vanilla
1 ½ Cup Coarsley Chopped Walnuts

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line large baking pan with parchment paper.

Mix wet ingredients with a whisk.

Combine dry ingredients and add to liquid mixture.

Spread mixture in pan and top with walnuts.

Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched.

Remove from oven and cool somewhat. Cut into squares while still a bit warm.

Cool completely before removing from pan.
